We've all done it, we've looked back at the way we have handled something and realised maybe it wasn't the right way. We might not have realised it at the time but it can come and hit you like a ton of bricks at an unexpected time, and then you realise maybe you were wrong.
We not only do this in our personal lives but when you work for yourself, your business is your life and you tend to do the same. Every day we have decisions to make in our business that soon you get fed up of making them! Who knows what's right or wrong or what the best decision is, we can only pray for the outcome we want.
Sometimes what happens is we doubt ourselves and we need to learn to trust our gut instinct. Someone said to me recently 'trust your instinct' as it is never wrong. Now looking back on my life sometimes my judgement has been clouded but most times I have followed my instinct and guess what.... It has been alright! I'm not a robot I have made mistakes and in business we can be so hard on ourselves, as when you make a succession of wrong decisions they tend to get you down, our work suffers and our motivation is near enough gone!
So what can we do to change our way of thinking? Firstly, I am a firm believer of fate. Everything happens for a reason whether it is good or bad. When we have a bad moment, it might not seem it at the time but it has happened fora reason, to make you stronger or to maybe to make you even realise what you have and not to take things for granted.
I've made bad decisions in my life and in my business, but oh my I have also made some good ones. When I look back over these moments in my life I realise that they happened to take me to where I am now and this makes me also realise how far I have come and what I have achieved. Something that business owners find so hard to do.
When your feeling down or business isn't going the way you want it too, stop for a minute and think. I often think where would I have been if I had chosen path a and not path b but all I know is that I love my life. I am doing the things that I want and I have a clear vision of what I want to achieve. Yes there will be obstacles along the way and I am sure a few tears, tantrums and hurt but weigh that up alongside the feeling of fulfilment and triumph then one out weighs the other massively.
Don't be scared to be who you are but don't sit there and procrastinate too much as I promise the world dosen't wait and life will pass you by. So make your mistakes whatever they are and be strong that whether it's right or wrong you will end up in the right place.
